Beaver Pond Meander

Distance

3.1 mi

Elevation gain

180 ft

Duration

1–1.5 hrs

Difficulty

Easy

A flat, wandering path through wetland and mixed forest that circles an active beaver pond. Trail width narrows in spots and a few boardwalk sections can be muddy after rain, but elevation is negligible throughout.

Highlights

  • Active beaver dam and lodge visible from the north bank
  • Good birding: wood ducks, herons, kingfishers in season
  • Wildflower meadow at the east end of the loop

Trail tips

  • Go early morning for wildlife sightings — the pond is quiet before 8 AM.
  • Boardwalk sections are slippery when wet; watch your step.
  • Bring binoculars.
